Under the Apron Strings: Big Boy Fudge Sauce

After I’d spend the day outside in the hot summer sun, a great retreat was to situate myself in air conditioning with a bowl of ice cream drizzled with Big Boy Fudge Sauce. I find now, hot fudge can also be the perfect remedy for a cold day.
On many occasions, Mama made Hot Fudge Cake just like Shoney’s in Columbia served.
A square slice of chocolate cake, a slice of commercial ice cream, another slice of chocolate cake drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped off with whipped cream and a cherry made for a delectable dessert.
Ingredients
1/2 cup salted butter (1 stick)
2 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 can of evaporated milk (12 ounces) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat
Add sugar, chocolate chips and milk. Increase heat to medium high and bring ingredients to a boil, stirring constantly for 8 minutes
Remove from heat
Stir in vanilla
You will begin to see the sauce thickening as it cools
Use immediately or store in covered dish in refrigerator up to a month
